Joel Gilbert Joel was saved at the age of four in Tujunga, California where his family was living while preparing to go to Australia as missionaries. In 1985 they moved to Australia, where they spent the next 15 years working with churches and ministering through music in South East Queensland. Since moving to California in 2003 the Lord has allowed Joel to work with his cousins, Becky and Danny Gilbert, at Bible Baptist Church where his uncle is the pastor. The Lord has given Joel the opportunity to learn several musical instruments and to learn from a wide variety of conservative Christian musicians and music groups. He started learning guitar and banjo around the age of 11 and since then the Lord has provided the opportunity to learn to play the mandolin, Dobro® guitar, bass guitar and a little piano and fiddle/violin.
